I have been in all the pantomime productions. Got into it by accident! Friends of mine said that the PTA at Capel school wanted parents or friends to be in their production of Cinderella. They asked me if I was interested but I declined as I had not done anything like this before. Nevertheless they volunteered me as they were getting desperate and said help was wanted behind the scenes as well. I went along to the first meeting and the next thing I knew I was cast as the Baron and they rest, as they say, is history! I have had both large and small parts and have played, amongst others a Queen (the female type), an Ugly Sister, a Wind Fairy and an Emperor. In fact, in some of the productions, I had more than one part in the same show!
Since we have changed more into a singing group, I have taken to staying in the background and doing a few oohs, aahs and do wops, as singing is not one of my strong points as the rest of the company know so well! I am let loose though when it's time to do a bit of acting or messing about in comedy sketches!
